Mom's Retirement Party

The thing about Mom's Retirement party is that it was videotaped, and my parent's 35mm camera was there. I actually used it to take most of the pictures that I shot at the party. This page contains only those shots I took with my digital camera.

Chuck Templeton and I split the photography duties. I shot him with my digital when he had the 35mm. Out-drew him, I guess, and probably to his chagrin.
The Big Surprise: at a party where Mom expects none of her kids, she gets both (plus one kid-in-law), and the grandkids. (The videotape confirms that everybody got a hug but me.)

And this is why. Let's face it, a son that she had lying around her house for years just can't compete with a shiny new grandkid that she's only seen a few times. (I did eventually get my hug.)

Sammy eventually goes exploring, in order to amuse and delight anybody else in the immediate vicinity, as well.
Mom's not the only one having a good time. Marissa (the kid-in-law) and Mildred (Mom's mom) were enjoying the party too. As was the hungry horde in back. (Friend Lil on left, husband Mike middle back (with glasses), sister Gaynel on right in black print dress.)
